Quality Management System recently becoming more vital instrument enforced by project owner to ensure any project undertaken by appointed contractor are well-managed throughout the project duration. Contract Documents, which consist of Specification, Construction Drawings & Bill of Quantity, outlined the basic quality requirement needed by project owner for a project. To ensure the contractor be able to fulfill all the requirement, most of project owner enforcing accreditation of ISO 9001:2015 to all bidding contractor. But, to have this certification, what does it mean? How can ISO 9001:2015 elevate your organization reputation?

- History of ISO 9001 and introduction to it?
- What are the requirement of ISO 9001, clause by clause.
- How do ISO 9001 suits your construction project?
- What are documentation to be prepared to ensure you are complying to ISO 9001 requirement.

This workshop is dedicated to construction personnel who are involved either direct or indirect to manage and control Quality Management at construction site.
It can be either you are a Project Manager, Quality Personnel, Resident Engineer, Inspector-of-Work, representative of contractor/consultant/ project owner at a certain construction project, or either you want to deepen your knowledge in Quality Management at construction site

- An experienced Quality personnel who had been involved in construction industries for more than 15 years.
- His vast experience in managing quality in various platform of project management team (contractor/consultant/developer) had shed-light-on some private higher learning institution and NGO’s to become trainer or facilitator for their related course or event.
- Amongst it are KLIA College, and Construction Inspector of Work Association Malaysia (COWAM).
Module Overview
- Course Introduction and Ice-breaking on Quality Management in Construction.
- This module will briefly focus on the level of understanding of the participant to the Quality at their workplace, also background checking (either from contractor, government body, project owner or consultant). This will provide indication to the trainer on the focus of the course. The role that the trainer shall play along the course.
- Introduction to Quality Management
- Meaning of Quality, a little brief of history, understanding Quality Management, What is Quality Management System and lastly, Quality Management System (QMS) in Construction.
- ISO 9001:2015
- ISO 9001 is the most popular standard for Quality Management System, however it is generic (applicable to all sector), If an organization comply to ISO 9001,what does it mean? What are documentation that need to be prepared for the certification of ISO9001, and most importantly, how do we interpret the ISO 9001 statements to construction daily work process.
- QMS in Construction
- Why we need such Quality Management System in a construction site, how to initiate quality system during project inception and the concept of QMS application. The concept of 7 Quality Management Principle, PDCA concept, SIPOC concept, Review/Verification/Validation concept.
- Method Statement & ITP
- Method statement & Inspection & Testing Plan were another important document that shall be prepared before work commencement, however what are the importance of it, how to prepare, who shall prepare, when shall we prepare it, and what are the item that need to be prepared. All question will be answered in this section.
- Non-Conformance Report
- A bonus section if time permitted. Non-conformance report are important document that issued by the client/client rep to express their dissatisfaction of contractors workmanship or material. However, to responds to the NCR, contractors shall be able to interpret what the issuer want, and how to responds, It is a report, so, what item shall be included in the report. All will be deliberately elaborated in this section.
